David W. Peterson, CFP® draws on over twenty-five years of financial experience in developing personal finance action plans with his clients. Before launching IRS, David spent ten years as Principal and Member of Hangar 4 Partners, LLC, a growth and technology hedge fund based in Novato, CA. There he worked with investors, helping them understand how growth equities affected their asset allocation and assisting them with tax planning. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of the firm and he was Founder and a Director of the firm’s mutual fund for non-U.S. investors.

Prior to Hangar 4, David worked in a variety of client service, analysis, and research roles in the investment banking and project finance industries. He also has several years experience in a number of corporate finance roles. David holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner in 2009. He holds Oregon, Washington, and California insurance licenses and has passed the FINRA Series 7 and 66 security registration examinations. David was born in 1957.

Away from work, David enjoys motorcycling, golf, mountain and road biking, and reading. He lives in Oregon City, OR with his wife, Diane, a Portland realtor.
